Conservation Easement
What is a Conservation Easement?
A Conservation Easement, referred to here as a “CE”, is a voluntary restriction placed upon
private property by the Landowner, providing for the permanent preservation of the land by
restricting real estate development, commercial and industrial uses, and certain other activities.
Following the granting of a CE, the owner retains title to the land along with the rights to the
remaining land uses, and no public access to the land is required.
